High-carbon Ferrochr

        Before official construction of the High-carbon Ferrochrome Project I and the overall technology transfer, Mintal Group Chrome Industry Science & Technology Co.,Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Mintal) and Outotec Oyj investigated again about the project’s environmental impacts, based on which changed some engineering design. Thus, Mintal released this report as a complement to previous one.
      Smelting furnace capacity: 2×75MVA.
  1. Furnace gas dust is extracted by Venturi scrubber and lye is used in desulfurization. Desulfurization efficiency is 90%.
  2. Smoke stack height and water consumption were changed.
  3. Compressed-air station scale was enlarged.
  4. During commissioning, although pollutants emission data differed from design value, they met related emission standard.
      Environmental Impact Analysis:
       Mintal’s High-carbon Ferrochrome Project I introduced clean metallurgical technique, which achieved effective treatment of off-gas, waste water and noise. Therefore, this project had less impact on surrounding environment.
